The Sylvan Old Auburn Road Neighborhood Association (Area 10) is bounded by Sylvan Road, Old Auburn Road, Greenback Lane and Sunrise Boulevard.
SOAR is a 501c3 tax-exempt non-profit corporation. We have a 5-member Board of Directors.   Currently our Boardmembers are: Jayna Karpinski-Costa (President), Lorraine Furry (Vice-President), Pat Freund (Secretary), Mary McAlister (Treasurer) and Barbara Christiansen (Community Liaison Officer). The position of Teen Director is currently vacant; we are looking for a teen who either lives in SOAR or who attends San Juan High School.
SOAR's mission is to promote a sense of pride, awareness and involvement in our community by facilitating communication of information, by advocating a safe environment, and by advancing the interests of its members in interacting with institutions and agencies that provide services to our neighborhood.

Our current neighborhood improvement project is to partner with Sunrise Recreation and Park District to complete the Arcade Creek Park Preserve on Sunrise Boulevard. Here is a link to the park's website/project. The pictures are from our last year's project.
